"We are all bound up together in one great bundle of humanity, and society cannot trample on the weakest and feeblest of its members without receiving the curse in its own soul. " -Frances Ellen Watkins Harper

This orange and clove scent is inspired by the speeches of Frances Ellen Watkins Harper. Her sharp and poignant remarks remind us of the battles we have won and those not yet overcome. The deep warmth of clove combines with a bright citrus fragrance; a tribute to ways Harper's work both energizes and comforts contemporary change-makers.

-Harper was raised by her Uncle William and Aunt Henrietta Watkins, who were renowned abolitionists. As a gifted orator, Harper continued in their work and fought to end slavery. She wrote numerous speeches and traveled across the United States as a lecturer.

-Before turning 22 years old, Harper wrote her first small volume of poetry entitled "Forest Leaves." Her poems and short stories were published in numerous anti-slavery newspapers.

-Harper held numerous leadership positions such as the co-founder of the National Association of Colored Women and the director of the American Association of Colored Youth.

This scent comes in 3 container sizes: 8 oz (metal lid), 5 oz (wooden lid), or 2 oz (no lid).
