Mabel Ping-Hua Lee was a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University. At the heart of the small campus, a Magnolia Tree stood for decades. This relaxing floral fragrance is in honor of Mabel Ping-Hua Lee and the many bold, beautiful graduates of Barnard who have changed history.

-Mabel Ping-Hua Lee was a gifted orator and writer who advocated for the rights of women and Chinese-Americans. At 16 years old, she led a suffrage parade with 10,000+ people in New York.

-Even after the 19th amendment, Mabel Ping-Hua Lee and most women of color remained unable to vote due to discriminatory policies like the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882. This act prevented Chinese immigrants from becoming naturalized citizens and exercising rights like voting.

-Mabel Ping-Hua was also the first Chinese woman in the United States to receive a PhD in economics. She published her research and many articles on history, inequalities, and China.

- Mabel Ping-Hua Lee was highly involved in her community. She collaborated with community centers and her father's church. She worked to establish a health clinic, English classes, and more.
